Expenses in the city vs. a small town.

The expenses of city living often overwhelm me, it is just too much sometimes. Mostly I guess its housing but just about everything else is a little bit more expensive. My boyfriend grew up here and these things don’t faze him, but he does have a good full-time job and me being an unemployed person its harder. Dont even get me started on job finding, I always had a job in my home town and everywhere else I have lived but here, well its the opposite. I wont go there today it’s too much.

There are lots of small things you may get daily and not think about the price being cheaper in a small town but just to name a few: gas, cup of coffee, bread, milk, gift at the gift shop, repair job on your roof, and that couch you saw on Craigslist. People here think that everything they own is worth more than it is and in a small area no is trying to rip you off, its worth what is worth no cheating with fancy names like “vintage”.

Driving in the country compared to the city.

Another busy Sunday in the city, I really try not to drive anywhere on Sunday unless its out of town. Everyone decides to drive on Sunday and they don’t decide to drive well or safely they just drive. You gotta get out on the weekends now and then cause there are things to be done but at all costs I avoid it, or I’ll go if my boyfriend drives.

This is not the way in the boonies, there are not many people to be out on the roads, and there is always parking so going places is really not a problem. Its not like the city where there is traffic, lots of not so good drivers, no parking, and probably construction somehwhere on your route. In the coutry you get in your truck and you drive and park and its that simple.

Down side, there are not many stores to go to in the country and if you want to go to a mall you might have to drive about an hour and there may be some traffic but overall I would say its less stressful. Yeah

My Dad thought I would be a good blogger, so I did some looking around and came to the conclusion, I would like to try it. I grew up in a small town and when I say small I mean, Population: 1,000 small. So beat that all you so-called small towners! I had a friend in highschool who lived in a nearby town with a population of just 17 people, now is that a town?? When 3 of those were her family?? Just crazy to think about, would you take a picture of that population sign if you drove by it? (You would, admit it)

To us it was just a lot of land with not a lot of kids to meet or things to do, and we wanted out! We have been out now for almost 10 years exploring the world but not without coming home to remember why the country is still one of my favorite places to be.
